Hosted by the Thunder Bay Section for over 25 years!
Thunder Bay is on the North Shore of Lake Superior at the north end of the Nor'Wester Mountains. Easily accessible sport crags, multi-pitch rock & ice climbs, and full-on technical scrambles are within ~15+ minutes drive from anywhere in the city. Almost limitless opportunities await those keen on developing new routes.
The Thunder Bay ACC Section has been involved in many community projects such as Project Peregrine, Nipigon Emergency Evacuation Kit (NEEK) and the Annual Bluffs Spring-Up to Clean-up. Run entirely by enthusiastic volunteers for many years, this Section has provided a number of outdoor skills and leadership development opportunities to hundreds of members. Membership has always been open to everyone from beginners to advanced climbers and scramblers. As one of the more historically active Sections across the country, we hosted a number of events including rock and ice climbing clinics, weekend climbing trips, technical hikes, high angle rescue courses, and the Banff Mountain Film Festival World Tour.
Visit the ACC National Site and follow the Membership tab to sign-up.
