Thunder Bay Section

Annual Bluffs Clean-Up

Hard days work at the Centennial Bluffs. The Thunder Bay Section is proud to support responsible stewardship activities in our local climbing areas. Each May, the section participates in an annual spring clean-up and several of our members and volunteer trip leaders donate their time and energy to cleaning up the area along the top and bottom of the Centennial Bluffs, a popular local climbing area.

Section members also make an effort to use spare moments at visits to other crags and climbing areas to remove garbage and reduce the impacts of climbers and other recreationists on the site. The section supports the motto "Pack it in, pack it out".

Quotable Quotes

Unmitigated risk aversion is the new Puritanism; complete with witch hunts, funny outfits, and humorless preachers thundering doom. The name of the Deity is changed to Safety; the name of Satan is changed to Lawyer; but the object is the same: to suck the life out of life and tell you how to live it.
